Basketball is a fast and exciting game that millions of people play and watch all over the world. It was invented in 1891 by Dr. James Naismith who wanted to create a sport that could be played indoors during the cold winter months. Today basketball is played in schools, parks, and professional arenas everywhere. In basketball two teams try to score points by throwing the ball through the hoop each team works together to pass dribble and shoot. Good players need to have strong teamwork, quick thinking, and great coordination. My favorite part of basketball is passing, dribbling and shooting, and making half court. My favorite part of basketball is shooting three pointers because it feels exciting when the ball goes in. When I play I usually like to play the position of lay ups shooting backwards. I like playing guard because I get to move fast and help my teammates. Many people look up to famous players like M.J. and L.J. who are known for being the best basketball players in the world. I admire Stephen Curry because he practices hard and never gives up. Basketball is also a great way to stay healthy. It helps build strength, balance and endurance. It also teaches players how to communicate and solve problems as a team. One skill I want to improve in basketball is being the best so I can be a basketball player. I want to improve my dribbling because it helps me keep control of the ball. Even people who don’t play can enjoy the game. Fans love the energy of a close match, the sound of sneakers on the court, and the thrill of a last second shot. Basketball brings people together whether it’s a neighborhood game, a school tournament or an NBA championship. The sport reminds us that effort and teamwork can make anything possible. That’s why I think basketball is the best sport ever in the world. I think basketball is an amazing sport that teaches teamwork and confidence.
