Why Being Kind Affects The School Environment.
Being kind may not seem like a big deal, but it can change any school. When students choose kindness, the school feels safer, happier, and far more welcoming. Kindness makes everyone feel good about themselves and can change lives. In many cases, students commit suicide due to bullying or feeling down. So when others are kinder and more welcoming it may help prevent suicide.
One big reason as to why being kinder may affect the school environment is because it makes other students feel like they are cared about. Although it may seem like someone is fine and that they are happy. In many situations that might not be the truth as some students have figured out how to put on a happy charade. Many kids nowadays struggle with mental health which would make them an easier target for bullying. About 57% of bullying goes unreported on school campuses.
Many students won’t tell an adult that they are getting bullied. This is because many bullies threaten them or the student doesn’t have a trusted adult on the school campus. Sometimes they believe that the teachers won’t believe it and will cough it up to friendly banter. When you are kinder to people not only does it make them feel validated but it may also make you feel a whole lot better. Being kind truly does affect not only others around you but you yourself as a whole.
Being kind is actually healthy for you! Being kind reduces stress and lowers blood sugar. If you act kinder it could help promote a good environment and make the air around you feel twenty times lighter. The simplest act of kindness could cause so many awesome outcomes. You should always treat people kindly because you never know what they are going through.
