Mr. Tasso, the new Assistant Principal at Riverside Prep Middle School, likes to bring fun and silliness to the campus. Before becoming our assistant principal, he was an elementary teacher for seven years. This year will be his fourth as an assistant principal. His goal is to one day be a principal.

Before his career in education, he wanted to be a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant). ‘’Doctors are not with the patients 24/7.” He had always wanted to be a doctor. He was going to go to medical school, but he has four kids so he couldn’t put much effort into it because that would mean less time to spend with his kids.

He has two dogs that are golden retrievers named Bow and Ellie. He named the dogs himself. Outside of school, he likes to spend time with his kids and likes to go golfing. Mr. Tasso loves to read. One of his favorite books is called “Rich Dad Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki and Sharon Lechter. He also likes watching TV. One of his favorite movies is “Interstellar” and his favorite TV show is called “ER.”

His favorite middle school memory was when he was in band, he got to go on a field trip to Disneyland. One of his longtime goals is to buy Disneyland season passes so that he and his kids could go, and he accomplished that this year. He has gone to Disneyland four times in the month of September-October! In school, Mr. Tasso liked playing sports. He liked playing sports like tennis, football, and baseball. Mr. Tasso used to play the trombone because it was one of the easiest things to play.

We have all heard Mickey Mouse on the intercom. Mr. Tasso does it because “It is something different and I feel like it brings some humor to this school.” However, Mr. Tasso said he plans to stop doing the Mickey Mouse impression because many student didn’t like it.

Mr. Tasso said that if he could go anywhere in the world, he would choose Antarctica because it’s full of mysteries and fun. He thinks it’s a cool and unique place, and I’m sure even I would love to see its wonders one day.
