Gen Alpha slang seemed to appear out of nowhere, leaving many adults wondering what it all means.
The evolution of slang is complex and constitutionally changing . Many popular and often misunderstood trends all come from famous content creators while others start with someone who is not well-known . Most trends and memes only last about a week although the 6-7 meme has been around for more than a month now. We interviewed Ms. Pelayo, a teacher at Riverside Prep, about what she thought was confusing about gen alpha slang. “I personally get confused if a student is saying a slur or something rude in general ’ why? ‘ Well, I don’t understand what students, and younger people in general mean when they say gen alpha slang”
If you’ve been online lately you have probably heard mos words like huzz, chuzz, chopped, and rizz. All are gen alpha slang just made in 2024-2025, these words are always said inside of a conversation with one another and always are at least said once or twice inside of the conversation. It most likely came from someone popular, or like the words huzz, it came from a very popular word back in the 1980’s and 1990’s that was called huzzy, the definition of huzzy is kind of older version of the new word huzz, so it means you get a lot of ladies, or men for example if you say “they get a lot of huzz” or “look at the huzz” it means that the person you are referring to are very handsome or beautiful and you either impress them then date them then they are ‘huzz’. The word huzz was just created by a popular streamer named kai cenat with the similar meaning of the original word called huzzy. Another word is chopped, which means that a person you are talking about is ugly or in other words really bad looking. One example is “ they’re so chopped “ which means the person they’re talking about is ugly and therefore ‘chopped’. Why people use these words is unexplainable, but one thing we know is that younger gens mostly use these words only because they’re new and these words help them express themselves in their own way. In the end, Gen-alpha slang shows how language keeps changing with each generation. Even though many adults find these words confusing, slang helps each new generation, and younger people build their own style and identity. Whether it’s words like Rizz, Huzz, or even chopped, every trend tells a story about how creativity spreads online and in the world in general . As confusing as it may seem, Gen-alpha slang is really just another way young people connect, communicate, and make a mark in their own culture.
