It is done! On December 10 2023, the Los Angeles Dodgers traded Victor Gonzalez and Jorbit Vivas to the Los Angeles Angels for Starting Pitcher (SP) Shohei Ohtani. He was a big hit for the Angels, hitting two grand slams and many home runs. He has hit more than 100 Home runs and pitched for the Angels allowing only 5 home runs hit off of him the entire season. He Got two straight MVPs and has now left the Angels to go to the Dodgers. He is the highest-paid player in all sports, agreeing to a Seven Hundred Million dollar deal for Ten Years!
When Shohei Ohtani got traded to the Dodgers, he said in his post on LAtimes, “First of all, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone involved with the Angels organization and the fans who have supported me over the past six years, as well as to everyone involved with each team that was part of this negotiation process.” He also talks about how thoughtful all the Angels fans were to him and the fans who supported him through all the ups and downs. He said he misses them but he could possibly see them later in the season since so many have become Dodgers fans. But he does feel bad but he spent a long time deciding on whether or not to get traded.
The Dodgers also signed from the free-agent list for Yoshinobu Yamamoto, another Pitcher. They also signed a lot more free agents and have made more trades but Shohei Ohtani is going to change the Dodgers for the next 10 years. Most Angels fans instantly became Dodgers fans when they heard about the Trade. Shohei has been infamous for his nickname, “Sho-Time”! Every Time he’s playing pitcher or batting everyone in the stadium would say “It’s Sho-Time!” The Dodgers have made a smart move signing him but 700 Million dollars will go down the drain in a few years from now!
