Does your child play video games all day every day? Well, there´s a big problem with that, teens usually neglect other areas in life that are important so that they can play video games. They feel it´s the only way they can relax. So over time, they play video games to cope with life issues.
There are a couple of reasons why children can easily become addicted to video games, dopamine, the reward system, and its challenge level. (Dopamine; is a neurotransmitter that plays a role in pleasure, motivation, and learning.) Video games make children feel rewarded by leveling up, gaining a new item, or exploring new content. Video games can be challenging because of opponent moves’ randomness, (both input and output), accuracy, problem-solving skills, and planning.
How it affects them
When children are playing video games, they can lose or gain weight, have headaches a lot more, backaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, and much more. Another thing the internet can affect is sleep. Sleep is VERY important to EVERYONE so getting less sleep is bad.
Video games can even affect you. If your future children are addicted to the internet, it could harm their behavior and future. Everybody uses the internet, but some people are more addicted than others.
