It was first created in 1955, originally as the European Champion Clubs Cup or “European Cup”, and is the qualifiers for the FIFA Club World Cup, FIFA Intercontinental Cup & the UEFA Super Cup. Clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, and Aston Villa have made it to qualifying in the quarter-finals.
